Searching for Packages

Search by name or keyword

apt search nginx
apt search "web server"

Show detailed info about a package

apt show nginx

Displays version, dependencies, size, description, and maintainer.

List installed packages

apt list --installed
apt list --installed | grep nginx

Check if a specific package is installed

dpkg -l | grep nginx

Find which package owns a file

dpkg -S /usr/bin/curl

Find what files a package installs

dpkg -L curl
