The unattended-upgrade command

automatic installation of security (and other) upgrades 2 examples from the lessons of the IVski Linux Playground — try them in the terminal next to them.

Options in the examples

--dry-run
Just simulate installing updates, do not actually do it
-d, --debug
extra debug output into /var/log/unattended-upgrades/unattended-upgrades.log
-v, --verbose
show verbose output

Examples

sudo unattended-upgrade --dry-run --debug
sudo unattended-upgrade -v
